Privacy Policy – No BS, Just the Facts

Hey, Samir here. Look, I’m not some faceless mega-corporation that sees your data as a product to be sold. I’m a small business owner, just like you. I’ve had my own data sold, spammed, and abused by services I signed up for, and it sucks. So my promise to you is simple: I will treat your data with the same respect I want for my own.

This policy isn’t written by lawyers to confuse you. It’s written by me, for you, to explain in plain English what data I collect, why I need it, and how I protect it.

What I Collect & Why

To run smartlabelprint.com, I need to collect a few things. I’ve broken it down so you know exactly what’s what.

1. When You Create an Account

  • What: Your name, email address, password (which is encrypted, so even I can't see it), and phone number.
  • Why: I need this to create your secure account so you can log in, access the label generators, and track your label quota. The phone number is crucial, especially for my Indian sellers, as it helps with account verification and password resets.

2. When You Generate Labels

  • What: The data you input into the label forms or upload via CSV. This includes customer addresses, product names, SKUs, prices, etc.
  • Why: The tool needs this information to, well, generate your labels. Here’s the critical part: this data is processed in your browser or sent directly to the server to create the PDF, but I do not store your customer lists or label data permanently. It's processed and then discarded. Your customer list is your business, not mine.

3. When You Make a Purchase

  • What: Your name, email, and payment info.
  • Why: To process your purchase of a label plan. But let's be crystal clear: I never see or store your credit card number. All payments are handled by our secure, PCI-compliant payment processor, Instamojo. They handle the sensitive stuff so I don't have to.

4. When You Browse the Site (The Cookie Stuff)

  • What: Anonymous usage data, like which pages you visit and which tools you use. I also use Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show you relevant ads.
  • Why: The usage data helps me understand what features are popular and where I need to improve the site. The AdSense revenue is what allows me to offer so many of the tools for free. It literally keeps the lights on. It helps me avoid charging a subscription fee, which I personally hate.

What I Will NEVER Do

  • I will NEVER sell your personal data. Not your email, not your name, not your phone number. Ever. That’s a bad actor move, and it's bad for business.
  • I will NEVER sell your customer data. The lists you upload are your confidential business information, and they are sacred.
  • I will NEVER spam you. You’ll get essential account emails (like password resets) and maybe a very occasional update if I launch a major new feature you need to know about. That's it.

Your Rights & How to Exercise Them

You’re in control. Always.

  • Access & Update: You can see and update your account information (name, password) in your Dashboard at any time.
  • Deletion: If you want to delete your account and all associated personal data, just send me an email from the address associated with your account. I’ll handle it personally, no questions asked (though I’d be sad to see you go!).
